Hello everyone,
My name is Alexandru, I’m 34 years old, and I’ve spent my entire career in the finance sector. I currently support FiPME in various aspects of management, leveraging my experience to help steer the company in the right direction. My journey with FiPME began a few years ago when I met Stefan in Zurich. We were both part of Tenity’s incubator program, and I was instantly drawn to the innovative concept behind FiPME. Stefan’s passion and vision convinced me to join the team, and I’ve been on board ever since.
From Gamer to FiPME Advocate
While I wouldn’t call myself a hardcore gamer, I did enjoy playing a variety of games during my childhood—whether it was strategy games, NBA2K, FIFA, or classics like Need for Speed and Assassin’s Creed. However, as life progressed and work responsibilities piled up, gaming took a backseat for me. But that doesn’t mean I’m any less passionate about the gaming industry. In fact, my involvement with FiPME has only deepened my appreciation for the complex and evolving landscape of digital assets in gaming.
A First-Time Visitor to Gamescom
This year, I had the opportunity to attend Gamescom for the very first time. Stefan had been urging me to attend, and I saw it as a great chance to meet the team in person, beyond the usual virtual meetings. I have to say, the experience was nothing short of mind-blowing.
I’m well aware of the impressive numbers in the global gaming market, but witnessing the sheer scale of Gamescom in person was another story. The professionalism, the level of organization, and the energy of the crowd—it all left a lasting impression on me. It’s incredible to think that we’ve gone from the days of Pac-Man to a multi-billion dollar industry where game publishers are now subject to financial regulations like money laundering controls.
One aspect that particularly fascinated me was the cosplay culture. The dedication and creativity of the cosplayers were truly remarkable, even though I visited on a Thursday when the crowd wasn’t as vibrant as I had hoped. I was looking forward to seeing some of my favorite manga characters brought to life, but maybe next time!
However, not everything was perfect. The event’s organization could have been better, particularly when it came to food and drinks. The lines were long, and there was a noticeable lack of shaded areas outside. A bit more planning in this area would definitely enhance the overall experience for attendees.
Where I See FiPME in the Gaming Ecosystem
FiPME’s role in the gaming ecosystem is multifaceted. On one hand, I envision us in the business areas, working closely with publishers to streamline their compliance processes. Our platform can significantly reduce the hassle involved in managing financial regulations, allowing publishers to focus on what they do best—creating amazing games.
On the other hand, I see FiPME embedded right in the middle of the action, among the gamers themselves. Our Ingame Item Trading Platform isn’t just a tool for business; it’s a service designed to empower the gaming community. By providing a Regulated Ingame Item Marketplace, we’re ensuring that gamers can trade digital assets securely and transparently. We’re building a compliant ecosystem that not only prevents fraud but also fosters trust and fairness.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow and develop FiPME, our mission remains clear: to empower developers and publishers with the data they need while providing gamers with a secure and transparent platform for trading digital assets. We’re committed to staying ahead of Gaming Industry Trends, and we recognize the Social Responsibility we have in shaping the future of in-game item trading.
The Gamescom experience has further solidified my belief in FiPME’s vision. We’re not just another platform; we’re working to make a meaningful impact on the future of digital asset trading in the gaming industry. I’m excited about what lies ahead and look forward to sharing more milestones with you all.
Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more updates from FiPME!
Best,
Alexandru
